Lip Enhancement

Get plumper lips without sacrificing natural results with lip enhancement treatments by the experts at Yaletown Laser Centre.

How Does Lip Enhancement Work?

Over time the body naturally loses volume and begins to deplete, this can happen with Lips too! Whether you want to address a thin and depleted lip with visible lines around the mouth or want to enhance your lip appearance, lip injections are a wonderful way to add a fresh and luscious feel to your lips.*

Lip injections are fast becoming the preferred way to getting plumper and more luscious looking lips. When you choose to get your lips looking fuller at Yaletown Laser Centre, we first apply a topical numbing cream to minimize any discomfort you may experience. Patients who are sensitive will appreciate the local anesthetics used in the cream.

Hyaluronic Acid, a substance that is naturally produced by our bodies is the main ingredient in many lip fillers and injections and is broken down naturally by our bodies over time, which makes it a safe option for many people who wish to have plumper lips. After the dermal filler is injected into your lips, your lips are then massaged to evenly distribute the filler so that you get natural fuller-looking lips.

After this short lip injections session, you are ready to face the world with your fuller lips, with minimal or no downtime and instant results. It’s all in a day’s work!

Along with the eyes, your lips express the essence of you. We use them to communicate, smile and express ourselves socially and intimately. Using the highest quality dermal lip fillers and advanced lip injections techniques, we strive for a natural and beautifully shaped lip for a luscious appearance.*

Am I A Good Candidate For Lip Enhancement?

If you have naturally thin lips that seem to vanish when you smile, lip fillers (lip injections) can correct this, allowing your smile to reach its full dazzling potential. As we age, our lips also get thinner, and you may want your beautiful, full lips back again. Now you can undo the effects of aging.

Do you think that your face will appear more balanced if you had fuller lips, or do thin lips make you feel self-conscious? Lip filler treatment can restore your confidence. Some people have a full lower lip and a thin upper lip. Again, lip injections are the answer. Any of these issues makes you a good candidate for lip filler treatment. Talk to us about lip injections today.

Is There Any Reason I Should Not Do Lip Injections?

Lip injections are not recommended for pregnant or breast-feeding women, patients with any autoimmune diseases or disorders or if you have a sensitivity to hyaluronic acid or local anesthetic. It is important that you inform us if you regularly take any aspirin, anti-inflammatories or anticoagulants during your consultation with our Medical Doctor.

Dermal Fillers Used For Lip Injections

From smoothening lines and wrinkles to plumping lips, dermal fillers are the preferred method of getting natural, younger-looking skin. There are many dermal fillers available, and the right one for you will depend on various factors such as the area you want treated, how elastic your skin is, how much sun exposure you have had, your budget and more.

Dermal fillers consist primarily of Hyaluronic Acid which is a substance naturally produced by our bodies, making it an ideal ingredient. Dermal fillers such as Restylane®, Restylane-L®, Restylane® Silk, JUVÉDERM® Ultra, JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus, and Perlane® are the main choices as dermal fillers for lip injections.

This is always a common concern when considering lip enhancement. Using advanced lip injections techniques and exclusive protocols, the risk of a “lumpy lip” is greatly reduced. Dermal lip fillers designed specifically for the lips are a safe and effective way to restore your natural lip structure, creating a smooth and hydrated appearance.*

How Long Does A Typical Treatment Take?

Treatments usually take about 20 minutes. We use a safe dermal filler that is designed to mimic a patient’s natural body. This not only means that the results will look natural, but that the filler is safe for the body. It is metabolized naturally over time, just as the natural hyaluronic acid within the body metabolizes.

Will My Lip Injection Treatments Be Painful?

We always do our best to minimize any discomfort during your lip injections treatment. We start by applying a topical cream, which helps to numb the skin in the area we are treating. The products we use also contain a local anesthetic, which helps immensely with sensitivity as well as icing the area. These in combination with an experienced and gentle touch helps create a positive and comforting experience.

Are There Side Effects? Swelling Or Bruising?

Swelling and bruising after lip injections vary by each individual. It is normal to have some swelling and a general “tight” feeling after the lip injections treatment. Bruising can happen and we recommend pre and post-treatment homeopathic arnica which helps reduce the risk. Refrain from consuming Asprin, anti-inflammatories, fish oils, alcohol, and other blood-thinning agents can also reduce bruising.

What Results Will I See?*

The results will appear almost immediately. The patient’s lips may be slightly swollen throughout the next day but will settle quickly and stay where they will be until your next injection.

The results depend greatly on the individual patient. On average, the hyaluronic acid fillers last around six months, but precise time frames vary. It all depends on how the patient’s body metabolizes the hyaluronic acid.
