How Does Microneedling With PRP Work?
PRP (which stands for platelet-rich plasma) microneedling is an exciting new treatment that uses your body’s own platelets to stimulate cellular regrowth, trigger collagen production, and help enhance your complexion’s glow. There are a number of benefits to using platelet-rich plasma to treat aging and sun damage symptoms, including:
- Results are seen within weeks to months
- Can reduce wrinkles and deep creases
- Can minimize fine lines
- Can diminish acne scars
- Can stimulate hair growth in those with thinning hair
- Little downtime
PRP involves taking the platelet-rich portion of your own blood and using its growth factors to rejuvenate your skin. The formula is added to a microneedling device, which then injects the formula into the skin to stimulate cellular turnover and regrowth.

Is There Any Downtime?
There’s minimal or no downtime associated with your microneedling with PRP treatment, but your skin may feel a bit sore and tender for the first few days after each session. We recommend that patients wear sunscreen between treatments, as it helps protect your newly revealed skin from the sun’s harmful UV rays.
