How Does Botox Work?

Are you interested in fading forehead lines and wrinkles?

Then it may be time to discover Botox. This popular anti-aging injectable remains one of the most popular wrinkle treatments, and for good reason – it’s really effective!

Take a look at how Botox works, including what to expect from your results.

Here’s How Botox Works

Your forehead does a lot of moving – even if you’re not aware of it. Between squinting, raising your eyebrows, frowning, or thinking, your forehead engages in a lot of micro-expressions.

The problem is, those tiny expressions add up over time, resulting in wrinkles, fine lines, and even frown lines between the eyebrows.

That’s why Botox was designed to block nerve signals from the brain to the muscles at the injection site. By blocking these nerve signals, Botox effectively (and temporarily) stops micro-expressions, giving your skin the chance to relax and take a metaphorical breather.

As a result, forehead skin looks smoother, with wrinkles, fine lines, and frown lines a lot less obvious.

How Long Does Botox Last?

Botox results aren’t designed to last for a long time; in fact, most Botox results last anywhere from three to four months.

However, it is interesting to note that the more often you receive Botox injections, the more likely it is that your results can last up to five or even six months.

How Can I Prolong My Botox Results

If you’re loving your Botox results and want to make them last as long as possible, we recommend taking the following steps:

  • Avoid working out for 48 hours after your treatment. Excessive body heat can cause the Botox formula to spread to areas where it shouldn’t be.
  • Stay hydrated after your Botox treatment.
  • Avoid rubbing or massaging your face after your Botox treatment; again, this can cause the formula to spread.
  • Be patient with your results. They may take a week or two to appear, so don’t rush it!
