When Is The Best Time For Laser Tattoo Removal

When Is The Best Time For Laser Tattoo Removal

We’ve all made mistakes at some point or the other, or even made some questionable judgement calls, but I’m sure there are many of us who can’t stand to see the tattoo they got when they were drunk or ‘in love’ with something or someone way long back. If you are looking for a fresh start, there is no time like the present.

However, if you are looking to get away with removing your unwanted tattoo with the least amount of problems, winter may be the best time of the year for you. And what luck, because winter is coming!

You Have to Avoid the Sun

While this is admittedly extremely hard to do in summer, when all you want to do is get out and tan yourself, the sun can cause more harm than good when it comes to your tattoo removal. It is natural to experience some skin irritation during the removal process, depending on your skin type and laser technician. Staying out of the sun will help you avoid blistering and peeling of the skin as it heals. This is easier in the winter months, when most of us stay indoors or go outside all bundled up.

The Gradual Tattoo Removal Process is Hidden

If you have a full sleeve or your tattoo is a visible spot, it can be tough trying to keep it hidden, especially during the removal process when it will slowly fade away. As it is gradually removed, after a number of sessions which have to be scheduled many weeks apart, your tattoo won’t look so good.  Winter is a great time as you can cover up easily, no questions asked.

Avoiding the Water

Summer means heading to water bodies, to laze on the beach, dip in a lake or river, swimming, and tons of water related sports to cool off in the summer sun. When you are undergoing a laser tattoo removal treatment, you are advised to avoid water and water related activities as your skin will be susceptible to bacteria that could lead to infections. It’s quite rare that you would go skinny dipping in the dead of winter, and giving up the hot tub could be a sacrifice worth it to make sure your skin heals well.

Being Hairy

When your tattooed skin is being treated for tattoo removal, there is very little you can or should do. This means that even simple things like shaving, waxing or plucking have to be avoided so that the skin is not disturbed to allow for a better healing process. Doing the above mentioned things can cause your skin to scab and blister, which could interfere with the treatment and final results. If you’re conscious about your legs or arms, winter is a great time so you can be your natural self, without feeling conscious.

Just in Time for Summer

Your skin will be ready to be flaunted in bikinis or shorts. What’s worse than wearing your favorite top and shorts with your half removed, faded tattoo peeking like an ugly reminder of what you once had? Let the winter months be your tattoo removal time frame so that your summer vacation plans can start off with a bang, with a new start to your body, tattoo free.
