Dr Shelly Kassam was born in Africa, raised and educated in London ,England. She graduated from the University of London with a Bachelor Degree in Dental Surgery, Royal College of Surgeons, England in 1981. She has obtained her Advanced Proficiency and Mastership Status from The Academy Of Laser Dentistry (ALD) and has been an Accredited Course Provider and examiner for the ALD in Canada since 2004.

After conquering her battle with fibromyelgia, Dr. Shelly has directed her strength and focus to the field of beauty and wellness. Specializing in Medical and Dental Esthetics since 1998, she continues to bring in new treatments and technology in her clinic providing exceptional services for her clients.
Dr. Shelly Kassam believes strongly in creating integrated Proactive Preventative Programs© for both facial and body rejuvenation utilizing various different therapeutic modalities including lasers, injectables and other techniques available in the constantly evolving world of aesthetics. Dr Shelly has completed countless advanced programs in dental and facial rejuvenation, lasers, Botox Cosmetic, and facial fillers all around the world.
Dr Shelly lectures internationally in the field of facial rejuvenation and lasers in medicine and dentistry. She has hosted her own radio show and magazine column called the New You.
Since her miraculous journey of recovery in India in 2003, Dr Kassam has incorporated ayurvedic medicine, yoga and meditation in her life and is passionate about helping her patients achieve inner wellness and outer beauty through lifestyle management programs.
Dr Shelly Kassam is the proud mother of four boys. She has a passion for reading, acting, poetry recitation, interior and clothes design and travel.
Dr Kassam is a graduate of The Leadership Vancouver Program and has served with The Agakhan Foundation Canada in supporting health and education programs for women and children in the developing world.

Senior Certified Laser & Skin Care Technician
Clancy's passion in life is helping patients meet their skin care goals through customized programs using advanced technology. She is a valuable member of the skin care industry and has 8 years experience working with a number of different skin and laser systems. Clancy specializes in treating her patients in our clinic using the Palomar Laser system. Clancy completed with honours an extensive medical esthetic and laser program in Vancouver, BC. She is dedicated to growing her laser and skin knowledge through continuing education programs and training seminars. Clancy strives to always provide her patients with exceptional services and optimal results.
Catherine
Registered Nurse
Certified Laser & Skin Care Technician
Catherine began her skincare training at The Blanche Macdonald Centre for Applied Design and graduated from the Esthetics Diploma program in 2001. She developed her skills at several high end spas in Vancouver specializing in facials, microdermabrasion, peels, and mineral cosmetics. She then moved to Toronto in 2006 to advance her medical aesthetic skills and knowledge. While in Toronto she became a certified laser technician and worked with Elos and Lightsheer Diode technologies and the Sciton BBL systems. She graduated from the Ryerson University Nursing Degree Program (BScN) in 2010 and became a Registered Nurse in British Columbia. Throughout her years of training and work in the medical spa industry she has developed a passion for cosmetics and medical grade skincare. She specializes in Palomar IPL photorejuvenation, Fractional skin resurfacing, scar revision, vein therapy, chemical and enzyme based facial peels, and hair removal. With over 10 years of experience as a consultant in the laser and cosmetic industry and 20 years in customer service relations, Joan welcomes all our clients as they enter the clinic and helps them with their full experience at Yaletown. You will often find Joan assisting Dr. Shelly with her facial rejuvenation clients and can provide them with a full consultation and treatment plan. Dr. Omar Kassam
Laser & Cosmetic Dentist & Educator
Dr. Omar Kassam is an Accredited Educator for the Academy of Laser Dentistry (ALD) for Canada. He is one of the first dentists to integrate Lasers in General Dentistry practice in Canada and last year was honored with a distinctive Master of Laser Dentistry award from the Academy of Laser Dentistry. He teaches in Canada and internationally on the use of lasers in dentistry as well as conduct ALD courses for standard proficiency accreditation in the use of lasers for dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants. Yaletown Laser & Cosmetic Dentistry (YLCD) was founded in 1998 by Dr. Shelly Kassam and Dr. Omar Kassam to provide a dedicated facility for cosmetic and laser dentistry. Drs. Kassam has been practicing for a combined 45 years in the field of cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry. Since 1998, the Kassam’s have focused their energies on laser and cosmetic makeovers, bio-aesthetic and neuromuscular dentistry and full mouth rehabilitations and preventative programs in a non threatening spa like environment.
Dr. Kassam is also the founder of Yaletown @ Kensington, a cosmetic smile makeover and bio-aesthetic rehabilitation dental centre in London, England where he visits once a month to treat patients and teach laser and cosmetic dentistry.

She began her career in dentistry as a clinical assistant, which now provides a complete foundation for her role as our dental consultant. Her passion for cosmetic and laser dentistry is astounding. As our smile and restorative consultant, you will find sarah spending time listening, educating and consulting with clients about a range of dental treatments including smile design, porcelain veneers, Invisalign clear braces and Laser Therapies. She has a beautiful office where your treatment can be discussed in private without interruption, taking as much time as needed to answer all your questions. Sarah's enthusiastic and caring nature combined with her keen eye for smile design and our custom laboratory are some of the key ingredients that help to create that perfect smile. Larissa specializes in preventive hygiene cleanings, professional laser teeth whitening, and Laser Periodontal Therapy for treating gum disease.  Dr. Sheena Sood
Sheena was born in Nottingham, England. She moved with her family to Vancouver at the age of three and has lived in the Lower Mainland ever since. Sheena completed her Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) at the University of British Columbia.
Dr. Sood loves to practice dentistry and cherishes each opportunity to make a positive difference in her patients’ dental health. Dr. Sood is a Premier Certified Invisalign Provider and is both passionate and committed to continue learning and maintaining her leadership role in modern dentistry. The most fulfilling part of practicing dentistry for Dr. Sood is seeing her patients smile with renewed dental health and increased self-confidence.
Sheena is the Director of the Western Canadian Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Vancouver Dental District Society, the Northwest Restorative Continuum and the Adventures in Restorative Dentistry.
